It was in 1993 that Doves Funeral Home realised that it would be advantageous to procure their own Funeral Insurance Company, and hence in March that same year, HTG Life was registered.

The following years proved that this service was indeed required, and the expansion and popularity of the policies provided by HTG Life grew considerably. It was only in 2006, when through the NUMSA Investment Company, the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa acquired the entire Doves Group and changed HTG Life Ltd to Union Life LTD.

Union Life now offers comprehensive cover on various insurance policies such as their All Nations Policy. This policy provides funeral cover for you, your family and even your extended family. Up to 14 members can be listed. There are various options within the policies that will determine the cash value that your family members will be paid out.

Doves Funeral Plan was the flagship insurance plan, and this policy is specifically designed to pay for any funeral costs that may be incurred. Should there be sufficient funds to cover the cost of the funeral a cash settlement will be given to the beneficiaries.

Senior Plus Plan is a unique funeral plan that allows senior citizens to plan and pay for their own funeral today, alleviating the burden of doing this to their next of kin.

Union Life underwrites all its own policies, and together with Doves Funeral Home and will honour it obligations and execute all conditions applying to all policies irrespective if you move or die overseas.
